PTC Brings Vuforia to Microsoft HoloLens

On March 31, 2016 PTC announced its Vuforia augmented reality (AR) platform will support Microsoft HoloLens. This was demonstrated live at Build in a keynote by Steven Guggenheimer, Microsoft Corporate VP and Chief Evangelist. The demo was triggered off of a sales brochure and showcased a 3D visualization of a Caterpillar® Compact Track Loader. First, a Surface tablet was used to produce a small-scale visualization on the brochure. Next, HoloLens was used to transport the loader to the stage where it could be observed and configured at actual size.

Infosys in Partnership with PTC Launch the Connected Care Test Bed

Within the healthcare industry, the growth and advancement of the IoT has created many potential opportunities due to high penetration of smart phones, health-based Apps, at home care & monitoring solutions, but with this comes challenges. In light of these challenges, Infosys has forged partnerships with RTI, PTC and Massachusetts General Hospital MD PnP to launch the Connected Care test bed under the Industrial Internet Consortium.
